Our Commitment Areas

GE’s approach to corporate citizenship and business is driven by a common understanding of the role we can play in helping to solve the world’s toughest problems.

GE’s approach to corporate citizenship and business is driven by a common understanding of the role we can play in helping to solve the world’s toughest problems.

Our guiding principles help lead the way: make money (strong, sustained economic performance), make it ethically (rigorous compliance with financial and legal rules) and make a difference (ethical actions, beyond formal requirements, to advance GE’s reputation and long-term health).

We are committed to supporting the health, well-being and professional development of our people; maintaining the highest ethical standards; participating in and sometimes leading public policy debates; improving our environmental, health and safety record; respecting and promoting human rights in all of our endeavors; and using whatever resources we can to strengthen the communities in which we operate. GE has identified commitment areas, based on our core competencies, where we focus our efforts. This section details each of the eight commitment areas.
