The GE Foundation Matching Gifts Program supports GE employees and retirees in their personal philanthropic efforts by matching individual contributions to eligible nonprofit organizations. This means when a GE employee or retiree donates $25 or more to an eligible nonprofit organization, GE Foundation will match this contribution dollar-for-dollar.
Started in 1954, the Matching Gifts Program has always supported a broad range of causes, including social services, disease research, environmental organizations, hospitals, museums, public and private schools, colleges and universities, and more. Today, the program continues to serve as an important element in the GE Foundation portfolio, matching $38 million in donations during 2010.
