Is this true? “General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha , Wis. , to Beijing . In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no taxes – the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the United States” …
My husband & I owned GE stock for years and considered it a great American company. “As GE goes – so goes America”. I am so disappointed if the above article is true!! Please reconsider!!

Thank you Betty for your comment. There have been some inaccurate reports about GE Healthcare’s X-Ray Division recently. At the end of July, the Company announced that it would move 4 executives to China to lead the development of specific products for use in China. GE is the second largest exporter in the United States and China is a growing market. Having a presence in growing markets is critical for GE and the United States as we look for ways to remain competitive and create jobs at home.
A GE announcement also at the end of July is a great example. GE said it will build a manufacturing plant in Mississippi that will create 250 high tech jobs. The new 300,000 square foot plant will manufacture composite components for aircraft engines and systems that will be used all over the world.

Over the past 18 months, GE has committed to investing hundreds of millions of dollars to create more than 7,000 manufacturing jobs in the U.S.
